The paintings accessed on this page span my residence in Thailand from 1998 to the Present. Insofar as I am able to comment on the concerns of my own work, there may appear to be an intermingling of personal and cultural, with S.E. Asian reference. Such characteristics are delivered via formal strategies for spanning the canvas' flat plane, with potentiality for penetrating it as space.
Painters need to think with their hands and their heads. I always like the metaphor of musical instrument rather than tool. You play it and it plays you; the viewer plays vicariously and feels the process of making when looking. Good not to forget the strength that painting has I think: Painting asserts the body. It has physicality. It has its own kind of time, right? It's value also defies rational thought. (Mickey Skolnick - Video Artist)
